Umbilical cord care

For 9 months, the umbilical cord connects you intimately to your child. What happens after the birth?

  • Right after the birth, the umbilical cord is cut, and it will be up to you to take care of it so that it heals properly.
  • Clean it every day with a cotton swab soaked in saline solution.
  • Make sure you dry it carefully each time to avoid any infection.
  • The umbilical cord falls off by itself between 5 and 15 days after birth.
  • It is recommended to continue the care for 7 to 10 days following the fall of the cord.

Hello all, does any have information about umbilical cord vessels being just 2 instead of 3?? Anyone experienced or have knowledge on complications? Special care that need to be taken?

thank you Hannah for the Information. My Dr did not mention anything about regular scan. They asked me to come back after 6 weeks.

I'm kind of worried. Hope it's okay to ask you this question. When it was identified in your scan that you have only 2 vessels was baby weight under weight??
