Hiccups in babies

• Hiccups are caused by a repetitive, involuntary contraction of the diaphragm when the stomach is full of air or liquid.
• Your baby can have hiccups from the time they are born, or even when they are still in your belly.
• Don't worry, this natural phenomenon is completely painless and goes away on its own.
• If the hiccups last longer than 15 minutes, you can hold your baby upward, and give them a drink.
