Baby's sleep: how does it work?

When it comes to sleep, your baby will need loads of patience and calming rituals to help them fall asleep peacefully.

  • Your newborn's sleep cycles are much shorter than yours, and they spend more time in REM sleep, which is essential for their extraordinary brain development.
  • The quality of their sleep will depend on several factors: their internal clock as well as external conditions, such as light and external stimuli.
  • As soon as your baby begins to develop certain time habits, don't hesitate to establish a soothing daily routine.

Don’t worry about stuff like that! You are your babys home. Nursery or not. My son still sleeps with me. They are only little so long. Keep them close to you.

What are some ways yall help your baby sleep, I have an almost 4 month old and has been so fussy and not wanting to sleep. He usually sleeps through the night but now he has been so bad about it. He did just get his shots, could that be it?

Yes! My son will be 3 months next week and he has trouble sleep some too. We have this toy that he absolutely loves. It vibrates and plays music. It puts him right to sleep. It has worked wonders for our little man

Dear new moms who want a hot shower but can't find the time, have nobody to watch the baby, or have a partner but the baby cries every time they hold 'em and it stresses you out, you can have a hot shower. Put baby to sleep once you start seeing those sleepy cues. Set him/her in their car seat, put one of their blankets over the top, and gently rock it from side to side. It'll be dark and baby'll think you've gone out for a drive. Babies love car rides. Once you know baby is asleep, go and start the water for your shower. Then bring the car seat in (still blanketed) and put it on the bathroom floor. The sound of the running water is relaxing and it should lull baby back to sleep and buy you some time if they have a light start-up. Take your shower in peace for as long as this gets you. Wash your pretty face. Condition your lovely hair. Cry where you can not be witnessed and feel judged if you need to. Baby feels they are being held so they are most likely to go into a deep sleep and you don't have to worry. Your baby is right there if they need you, you get a moment to yourself, and you can rest easy knowing your baby isn't screaming their head off. No more phantom baby cries.

Co sleeping, sometimes a bed bassinet, a warm bath before bedtime. It's normal for babies to go through a sleep regression at 3-4 months and then another at 6 months.

How did you crib train? I did the thing most mothers of 2 said not to do. I let my baby sleep with me. Now he is 8 months old and I can not get him to sleep in the crib.

2 tips 1) Try when he take naps quietly put him in the crib and when he keeps on waking up he’ll get the hand of it 2) you can move the crib next to your bed ( this might be easier) just so he can still be able to see you while sleeping on trying to sleep on his own

thank you so much! I will be trying this. I hope the crib we have can be taken apart like that. We do try and put him in his crib anytime he is napping. His dad can set him down anytime I set him down he just screams.
