Baby's sleep at three months

At three months of age, your baby is slowly beginning to settle into a normal sleep cycle, but he or she still spends a lot of time in the arms of Morpheus.

  • Most three- to six-month-olds sleep a total of 15 to 16 hours a day, day and night.
  • Gradually, your baby is getting out of the habit of nighttime feedings - good news for you and Dad!
  • During this phase, you can gradually start to establish a bedtime routine. Your baby will probably wake up several more times: respect their rhythm.

co-sleeping/bedsharing I was always the one who said I wouldn’t let my child sleep with me. Well, I was wrong. For the first two weeks my daughter did sleep in her bassinet up against my bed. And boy did I get the worst sleep possible. I sleep with my arm over the side and hand on her to make sure she was okay and still breathing. I would sleep for a few minutes and then I was back up checking on her. So I bought a dock a tot and since 2 weeks she has slept in that on my bed. I do not allow her to sleep in bed with me, I can’t even fall asleep holding her because I get paranoid and freak out. So she is ALWAYS in the dock a tot. And since I did that, she has slept all night (2-3 weeks old to now 3.5 months), and I actually get sleep now. We have a California king bed so there is plenty of room for my husband, her and myself and I also have a bed rail. I was just curious as to if anyone else was the same way swearing their child wouldn’t sleep in their bed and then ended up having them sleep in bed with them.?

Yep. I was told never to allow it while pregnant and swore I wasn't gonna. And then my son was born and I quickly became the default parent doing everything (don't even get me started on how that went down...). It got to the point where neither me nor baby was getting decent sleep. Since my partner had ran away to the couch, we had the bed to ourselves. We found it was super convenient to have baby in bed with me. I could literally just pop out a boob and he would eat and we'd fall back asleep. Best sleep ever! Made sure everything was safe of course. What I learned was to follow my instincts and everybody else can shut up. Especially the ones who never had kids but were the loudest and most judgemental about bedsharing and how others should raise children. We do what works for us and it has never steered us wrong.

Yup 100% before a baby I said the same thing and then I did it allllllll the time. Trying to break the habit now just cause it’s uncomfortable and I don’t sleep good. I just get so tired sometimes and feed her laying down while I’m sleeping and then she’s there all night ?

Your daughter should be sleeping throughout the night by the time she's 3 months old and should have at least one nap during the day what I do for my daughter is I have three setting up during the day and I wake her up at 8 a.m. and I put her to bed by 8 p.m. her first nap I normally put her down around 10 a.m. and then I usually let her sleep until 11:15 and then I usually let her take a nap around 12:30 I'll wake her up 1 and then I'll keep her up for a couple of hours and for her third and final nap of the day I'll put her down at 2 and let her sleep until 3:15

Yeah. My son does that every now and again. He'll nearly wake up crying. I just kiss and stroke him back to sleep. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/324327#:~:text=Newborns%20and%20young%20babies%20may,their%20main%20form%20of%20communication.

Co sleeping, sometimes a bed bassinet, a warm bath before bedtime. It's normal for babies to go through a sleep regression at 3-4 months and then another at 6 months.

My son is 8 months old and I believe we're going through sleep regression. He wakes up every 2-3 hours again like he did as a newborn and doesn't take more than a 15min nap now. Idk what to do I need advice please

I've been told by Doctors and DCS [Department of Child Services] that my infant [36week preme, 3 months old now] can't sleep with blankets or on his side. But in the hospital he was continuously swaddled in a blanket and rotated side to side. Are they saying this cause he's older, or cause I'm a new mom and they think the worst? Note: He has sleeper swaddles and sleep sacks, plus warm PJs if needed.

They're worried about loose blankets... Cause the infant (unswaddled) could potentially suffocate themselves with the blanket... Both my boys sleep on their sides even as newborns it's just Important that you keep an eye on them so the don't roll over to their stomach if they can hold their head up yet... Also if the babes are rolling over to even just one side you can swaddle anymore because if they roll to their stomach while swaddled they won't be able to push up

Their just saying that because you're a new mom. If the hospital is doing it you can do it at home just be mindful and check on the baby every so often.
