When a lump appears in the breast while breastfeeding
One or more small lumps have appeared on your breasts since you started breastfeeding your baby. When should you start to worry?
- When a mother breastfeeds her child, the mammary glands can produce what are called nodules.
- These small, hard, usually painless lumps are usually gone within a few days, so there's no need to worry about them if they do.
- However, if you notice that they persist over time, don't hesitate to make an appointment with your doctor. Prevention is better than cure and it will put your mind at rest.
