Focus on baby's diet month by month

Your baby is growing at an incredible rate... and so are his nutritional needs, which is why his diet must evolve month after month.

  • From birth to 4 months, the baby is fed exclusively with milk, breast milk, or bottle, each family has its ideal solution.
  • From 4 to 6 months, food diversification makes its appearance, but purees and compotes are limited to a few spoonfuls.
  • From 6 to 8 months, the baby starts to have real meals, sometimes supplemented by a little milk.
  • From 8 to 12 months, there are usually 4 meals and they are increasingly varied, with food chunks making their appearance.
  • From 12 months onwards, the baby can adopt a diet almost identical to the rest of the family!

Hey girls! My baby will be 6 months on the 18th. She usually drinks 8-10 ounces every few hours or so. Now she's eating baby food too. Do I give the full jar of the baby food with the bottle or....? #babyfood #6months #changes #chunky

Give her whatever she wants. I love chunky babies.

Milk first, regular amount, then food. If she’s full, she’s full. But milk (breastmilk or formula) has more nutrients and calories than baby food and needs to be given priority.

My youngest is 1yo and still eats baby food. he refuses big people food is what we call it. I’ve tried since 5mo to get him to eat our food even tried the baby led weaning and had no luck. He just thinks of it as gross (gags on how bad the taste is to him) or won’t even touch it. I know some foods like eggs he can’t stand the texture he picks it up and immediately drops it everytime I give it to him. Please help these baby foods are expensive to keep buying as they took it off wic so I’m buying out of pocket for them now

Maybe you need to see a feeding specialist. Maybe it's more than just the texture. My daughter is 2.5 years old and still eats babyfood. She has a severe texture adversion.

When did you guys start transitioning your baby to baby food or even cereal? My baby is coming up on four months here soon and I would like to start it if I can. She can sit up with support I just was wondering what you guys have done. I also will be talking to the pediatrician or next appointment.

I just mash foods with a fork then add it to a blender with some breast milk (if you intend to refrigerate it’s only good for 4 days as long as it hasn’t touched babes mouth yet)

Definitely start with the baby food when he's hungriest and only give him formula after the meal. Also try all different kinds maybe he doesn't like the kind he's being offered? Best of luck

I puree what I cook. So when my kids wasnt wanting to eat id could take a bite and show them its good. And they actually wanted to eat when i would do it to their veggies and mac n cheese. Meats or anything like that I get the nuby and put it in there for them to try... It worked for me with 4 out off 5 kids.
