Feeding your baby at 8 months

At 8 months, food diversification has seriously started and the baby's meals are less and less monotonous.

  • The baby also appreciates the variety of flavors and discovers new tastes with undisguised pleasure!
  • To their great delight, something new can now be offered daily.
  • The few teeth that have usually appeared allow the baby to discover pieces of food!
  • At the table with the family, you can even offer your baby a little bread crouton that will certainly be fun nibbling.
  • Of course, milk is still very present in their diet and can still be offered as a supplement at lunchtime.

Hey girls! My baby will be 6 months on the 18th. She usually drinks 8-10 ounces every few hours or so. Now she's eating baby food too. Do I give the full jar of the baby food with the bottle or....? #babyfood #6months #changes #chunky

Give her whatever she wants. I love chunky babies.

Milk first, regular amount, then food. If she’s full, she’s full. But milk (breastmilk or formula) has more nutrients and calories than baby food and needs to be given priority.

Does anyone else get super anxious while giving your baby new foods? Like new textures. Do babies just know how to chew mushed and mushy food automatically? My baby is 8 months and has no teeth. What kind of foods should I be giving her. Tonight we had mashed avacado.

I get extremely anxious as well after trying new foods with my son. My boy loves mashed potatoes and spaghetti sauce and the cheese sauce from Mac and cheese.

No they don't automatically know to chew you have to demonstrate chewing to them. I did blw with my daughter and she did amazing with it. Just because they don't have teeth doesn't mean they can't chew things it's all about preparation and how you cut everything.

Definitely start with the baby food when he's hungriest and only give him formula after the meal. Also try all different kinds maybe he doesn't like the kind he's being offered? Best of luck

I puree what I cook. So when my kids wasnt wanting to eat id could take a bite and show them its good. And they actually wanted to eat when i would do it to their veggies and mac n cheese. Meats or anything like that I get the nuby and put it in there for them to try... It worked for me with 4 out off 5 kids.
