The childminder: personalized welcome for baby
A childcare method that is popular with parents, the maternal assistant, often called a nanny, welcomes babies in a setting similar to that of their own home, where they are comfortable and awakened.
- The childminder can take care of up to four children in her home.
- Her approval by the departmental council via the PMI certifies the health and safety of her home.
- Contact the town hall or the PMI to find out the contact details of nearby nannies.
- If the child is being cared for at home, the nanny is in contact with the Relais des Assistantes Maternelles, a place where children can meet and learn.
- In terms of budget, the hourly rate is based on the minimum wage, to which must be added a maintenance allowance and paid vacations.
- Financially, you can get a help called "complement of mode of care". Ask the CAF for more information.
