The principle of baby daycare

Also known as a drop-in daycare center, the baby daycare center is a part-time childcare method to relieve parents and awaken their baby. Definition of the concept.

  • Not comparable to a crèche or a nursery assistant, this mode offers care for children from 4-6 months to 6 years old, for a maximum of three half-days per week.
  • The daycare center is private or municipal and the staff is trained in early childhood.
  • One of the parents must not work or be part-time.
  • The daycare center is above all a place of socialization that promotes early learning through various activities, such as singing, painting or playing.
  • The number of places and the hours of operation vary according to the establishment, but if the daycare center is private, you will not be entitled to CAF benefits.
  • If the daycare is municipal, the hourly rate varies between 0.76 cents and 2.29 euros.

Good morning mommies, is it truly hard to find a daycare? I’m worried that I won’t be able to find a daycare before I have him. I know once I get to the finish line I won’t be able to do much because I will most definitely be laid up lol. Or should I look into getting a nanny?

For my oldest there wasn't a waiting list for daycare but there was for preschool while my youngest was the opposite. Just start calling around and ask what their wait-list wait is and start adding your name to them.

Ok and that’s where I was getting confused. I didn’t know if I could go ahead and put my name down for the waiting list. He isn’t suppose to come until Oct. So I just didn’t know honestly whether I’m doing this too early or not.

I agree. Covid is a major contender in the decision but ultimately its up to you. Like I have a comprised immune system and my husband is working on getting disability so it really depends on your life.

They do go to daycare, I am not able to be a stay at home mom but since Christmas break I have kept my kids home while working from home healthiest they’ve been … idk what to do I love their daycare I just hate constantly struggling to keep them healthy.. any moms have thoughts on what my next step Or move in This situation could be?

When I couldn't be a stay at home mom I had to take my daughter to daycares. One day care she got lice, another she was bitten multiple times by another kid, croup that almost killed her...daycares are zoos lol unfortunately it's like sending them to public school germ ratio is astronomical! Do u have an option to permanently work from home?

I can relate to you, I have a 4 month old and I'm a stay at home mom. I want to get a job, but I don't trust or feel safe having anyone watching him due to covid and because he's so young. But there are options, there are stay at home jobs you can apply for or have a family member you trust watch your daughter for a little bit while you work instead of a daycare

Is it possible to bottle feed your baby but with your breast milk. So I would pump and use a bottle instead of putting the baby to the boob. Mainly because I’ve heard it’s hard to switch from boob to bottle and my baby will go to daycare once it’s time for me to return to work but I want to use my breast milk. I’m a first time mom, so this may be a dumb question.

Any of you planning to go back to work a month after delivery? I’m struggling with the thought of putting a newborn into daycare ?

Gm Anne yes it is a struggle but sometimes you have to do what's best for you either put the baby in daycare so can work or get a nanny... Just do your research for some daycares in your area ... I felt the same way with my first born child I waited until he was about 1 I had family watching him.... Good luck to you
