How do you know when baby is teething?

The eagerly awaited first tooth is an important milestone in the lives of both baby and parents, but how can you be certain that baby is teething?

  • For some lucky people, teething goes unnoticed, but for most babies, it's accompanied by minor toothache and discomfort.
  • These include: red cheeks, swollen gums, mild fever, excessive salivation, and loss of appetite.
  • If your little one is chewing on everything, getting grumpy, crying more often, and having trouble falling asleep, there's a good chance they are teething.
  • If you're unsure or if the symptoms are stronger than expected, see your pediatrician.

Other than Tylenol and putting the pacifier in the freezer, what do ya recommend doing for a teething baby. He’s almost 4months.

I’m in the same boat. My 4 month old daughter bites on everything including fingers (Clean ones) but I’m about to try putting one of her washcloths in the freezer and see if she enjoys that on her gums

Let me know how that is. I don’t know why but I’d feel a little weird doing that. I be wanting to make sure that everything is clean and sanitary.

Could my 3 month old baby be teething? Lately he has been screaming and crying all day he doesn't want anything. He's been drooling and blowing bubbles more and has a slight fever of 99.4F but I'm not sure really how to work the thermometer I have so I will be getting a different one soon. Does anyone know what's going on and what else I could do? I just feel so bad for my baby crying all day

Get a rag, tie it in a knot and put the knot in some formula or breast milk and then put it in a bag and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours. My baby doesn’t like teething rings but likes cloth stuff so she liked that. To help her sleep I would give her Tylenol and rub some night time oragel on her gums.

My LO is in her teething stage aswell, if she's really biting into her teethers and she still seems in pain during bedtime, i offer her a bit of tylenol ..and she's pretty much sleeping through the night :)

Chamomile, brew a little organic chamomile tea and add too breast milk and make a teething oil with coconut oil and 1 drop of Essential clove oil and one drop of lavender essential oil. There are small companies that make natural teething oils like that. But the clove really helps them with the pain, it’s a natural pain reliever. Target sells one babyganics! hope this helps,

My husband and I got into an argument last night because I got super overwhelmed trying to put my teething baby down for bed last night. I gave her Tylenol and did our bed time routine but she would not stop waking up about every 30 min- hour. I yelled and I cried. It didn’t seem to affect her but I feel so bad for letting my emotions take over. Any advice how to cope with ppd and ppa? I cosleep and breastfeed my daughter. My husband says it’s okay to let her cry for a little but I just keep thinking about how helpless she is. She needs me.

Totally okay to go through these emotions!! I always feel really bad letting the babies cry for a little. But we also need a few minutes to regroup so we can come back and be the mamas they need us to be! ❤️ she does need you, but you and her need you to be okay!

It’s total okay to let her cry a little. If she’s fed and dry and in a safe place … let her cry for a little bit & regroup yourself then come back. Like Kelsey said you both need to be okay
