What is an IVF baby?

Every year, 19,000 babies are born from in vitro fertilization (IVF) in France, and they are in great shape! Here is some information to enlighten you on the subject.

  • IVF is a method of assisted reproduction that is used mainly in cases of fertility problems.
  • When we talk about an IVF baby, we sometimes use the term "test-tube baby", simply because fertilization occurs outside the woman's body.
  • For a long time, it was feared that test-tube babies were more fragile than other babies, but more and more studies are showing the opposite!
