Squinting baby: what you need to know

Your baby sometimes squints, and you're a little worried about it. Here are some answers to reassure you:

  • Before 4 months of age, a baby sees very blurred and distinguishes only two colors.
  • A strabismus in infants is often observed.
  • The eyes are not yet used to looking in the same direction.
  • If your baby continues to squint beyond 4 months, talk to your pediatrician, who will perform an eye exam.
  • Rehabilitation can help your baby's eyes stop squinting.
  • The earlier the squint is caught, the easier it will be to fix.
