Vaginal delivery

A vaginal delivery is the most natural way to give birth to your child. It is important to know how it works:

  • The vaginal delivery begins with a pre-labor phase where you will feel the first contractions.
  • The obstetrician or midwife will check the dilation of your cervix and you will be taken to the labor room when you reach 3 cm.
  • If the contractions are too violent, you can ask to have an epidural that will quickly ease the pain.
  • When everything is ready, labor begins and you will push intensely to birth your baby following your contractions.

It’s annoying asf to me how my “friend” is so discouraging & negative about how my birth experience is going to be . Implying that “oh you’re going to a c section” this and that like excuse me just because I’m small doesn’t mean shit . I can have a vaginal delivery as long as the good Lord allows it . It’s all his plan . My plan is to do vaginal delivery I will be a little upset if that changes but as long as baby and I are safe that’s my main priority!

My daughter is finally here. She was born on 6/3 through an emergency C-section at 40 weeks and 4 days.Nothing like a vaginal delivery. But am grateful we are doing well

Does anyone have any experience with vaginal birth that didn't rip or tear? What did you do in the weeks/months leading up to delivery to help with this? I know it happens a lot but I'm terrified and have read about a few things to try to prevent it like raspberry leaf tea (nasty) so I want to see if there's any other things yall did.

I didn’t have a rip or tear. Honestly I didn’t do anything I’ve always just stayed up on my kegals, I had a lot of sex while pregnant, I worked up until I went into labor on my feet, and I was really mindful during labor when and when not to push. I didn’t really go out of my way to do anything.

Dr recommended at least a year after my c sections to give time to heal and not rip. So I did the year. Only had c sections though

Doctor appointment went well. The little man is already 8lb and head down, zero dilation but cervix is soft, anticipated for vaginal delivery. I am so nervous pushing a big baby. My due date is not till June 2nd.

I’m due in early May with twin girls ! Will I automatically be having a C-section or will I still have a chance at a vaginal delivery ? Which is more common with twin deliveries?

If you're not a high risk, you should be able to have a vaginal delivery. Make sure you stand firm with your decision, but also keep an open mind about a C-section in case you end up needing one. Make sure you, and any family, friends, doula, midwife or whoever you might have in the delivery room with you can help advocate for you.
