Should you breastfeed your child for 2 years or more?

Breastfeeding is recognized as beneficial for your baby's health, but it is often frowned upon by our society when your baby is a few months or even 1 or 2 years old. What you need to know:

  • You don't risk increasing your child's dependency by breastfeeding longer, because breastfeeding also provides emotional security, which is essential to help your child become independent.
  • The WHO recommends breastfeeding for up to 2 years and even longer, depending on the wishes of the mother and child.
  • From the age of 6 months, you can introduce solid foods into your child's meals, in addition to breast milk.

How do I wean my 2 year old from breastfeeding at night? I have tried everything, from dropping sessions during the day to decreasing how long he feeds at night. But he still wakes up 3-4 times during the night to nurse. This mommy and dad are exhausted

When did you start lactating during pregnancy? I’m 30 weeks and still havent starting lactating. Also what are some good remedies to help with breastfeeding? I’d like to breast feed my baby as long as I can

I actually started to lactate very early. I'm 27 weeks at the moment but, I started lactating around 10 weeks.
