Advantages and disadvantages of the baby pacifier

In France, about 7 out of 10 children suck on a pacifier regularly. What are the beneficial and harmful effects of pacifiers on babies?

  • Like many parents, you probably see the pacifier as a miracle solution. Indeed, sucking calms your baby's cries and helps him fall asleep. It also reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
  • On the other hand, the baby's pacifier would promote ear infections and deformities when used for too long.
  • You have to find a balance in order to give your baby the pleasure of a pacifier while taking care of his health!

Other than Tylenol and putting the pacifier in the freezer, what do ya recommend doing for a teething baby. He’s almost 4months.

I’m in the same boat. My 4 month old daughter bites on everything including fingers (Clean ones) but I’m about to try putting one of her washcloths in the freezer and see if she enjoys that on her gums

Let me know how that is. I don’t know why but I’d feel a little weird doing that. I be wanting to make sure that everything is clean and sanitary.

My baby is almost 3 months old and still doesn't take a pacifier. Baby has to get used to other people and other people's energy.

We put water in the pacifier and froze it. It was the only thing that kept him happy when he was getting new teeth. Best of luck

How can I have my 3 month old take a pacifier? Baby startles awake even when swaddled and cries and I have to rock her back to sleep.

My little girl only takes ONE pacifier! I thought she just didn’t like them, then I got one as a gift and that’s the only one she uses! Also I heard some can be too big or too small for them!

So I'm kinda stressing because I didn't think I wasn't actually pregnant with these two test coming back negative one taken in August and one in November. I just casually went on with my life smoking sometimes taking small sips of alchol but towards then end of December I felt my first real kick and me realizing I'm gonna be a mom is kinda stressing me out. I'm excited about being a mom I'm just stressed and scared on how to tell my parents this late in the pregnancy I started feeling symptoms in August so I'm 21 weeks now. But any good advice on how I should tell them??? I was gonna get my ultrasound appointment done and then maybe do a gift bag with a card explaining and then the ultrasound pictures inside with a baby outfit and a pacifier ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️... I just dont know at this point please help !!!!

Is it normal for my baby to keep putting her hands in her mouth and sucking on them? She doesn’t want a pacifier and she isn’t hungry either. It’s been going on for about two weeks now. She’s 2.5months
