Using a surrogate mother abroad

Surrogacy is illegal in France, but many couples turn to foreign countries. Which countries allow surrogacy?

  • Surrogate mothers lend their wombs for the duration of pregnancy to couples who are homosexual or who cannot have a child for medical reasons.
  • Here is the list of countries where surrogacy is legal: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Great Britain, Greece, Iran, Israel, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, South Africa, and some states in the USA.
  • The practice is tolerated in Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
  • Before using a surrogate mother, make sure you know the laws of your country.

Question. If you agree to become a surrogate for a family you are not the mother. Right or wrong? Please tell me your opinions.
