Sleeping on your right side while pregnant

Are you used to sleeping on your right side? Now that you're pregnant, you'll have to think about turning to your left side. Here's why!

The reason is mainly anatomical: the vena cava, which runs along the right side of the uterus, can be compressed if you sleep on your right side. This position will become unpleasant especially around the 6th or 7th month of pregnancy. It causes a feeling of suffocation or discomfort: listen to your body, which will help you find the right position. Use pillows to find the most comfortable position!

I keep reading about how it's bad to sleep on your right side..and that you're supposed to sleep on the left while pregnant. I've been having trouble sleeping on the left side lately and wind up switching throughout the night. Anyone else?

You can sleep on either side, the right side is just preferable.

I toss and turn all night but sleeping on my right side is much more comfortable to me. I always slept this way or on my belly
