At what age should I cut my baby's nails?

Did you know that your child is born with well-shaped nails? Find out at what age to cut your baby's nails.

  • Starting at one-month-old, you can start giving your baby a little manicure.
  • Use a pair of round-tipped scissors or baby-friendly nail clippers.
  • Nails should always be trimmed squarely to avoid ingrown nails.
  • Cut your baby's nails when they are calm or asleep.
  • Toenails grow much more slowly than fingernails.
  • If your baby scratches themselves before 1-month-old, even out their little nails with a soft nail file.
