The baby car seat: a fundamental

When you're preparing for the baby's arrival, there are a few purchases, such as car seats, that you shouldn't make!

  • To find your way around, refer to the different groups.
  • Group 0 or 0
for babies from birth to 10/13 kg.
Group 1: for young children between 9 and 18 kg.
Group 2: when your baby is older and weighs between 15 and 25 kg.
Group 3: from 22 to 36 kg.
If baby has to travel frequently in the car, you can choose a model that is particularly comfortable and offers various practical accessories for everyday use.

Question. What seat are you guys putting newborn car seat in? Obviously rear facing but which seat? I read middle was the safest but I see that most don't put in the middle?

In my husband and my car is rear passenger. Haha I knew that but the middle would be impossible especially with a dog in the backseat! :)

Need to vent... Came to my 11W6D ultrasound. I was told I can have one visitor because of covid. Well little did we know the little one in the car seat counts as another visitor. They won't let my sister go back with me because the baby is with us. He is still inside of his car seat and not doing a single thing wrong! I asked if they could make an exception this one time because I've had 3 miscarriages prior. I really don't do good waiting or going to any appointment. I get extremely sick, Over heated and cry every time. ?

I think it's ridiculous too and they should've told you ahead of time. We had to pay a sitter so my husband could come to my high risk appointment with me. Luckily they told us ahead of time only one visitor and has to be 18 or older

Just a note, if you decide to set up your car seat and everything, leave the dock in the seat but the actual car seat at home just in case of a car accident or you'll have to replace the car seat.

When should I pack the hospital bag and put the car seat in the car?

Probably have hospital bag ready around 34 weeks just in case, and you dont really have to put the whole car seat in, just have the base of it ready bc you will still need the car seat to take baby into the car from the hospital

Dear new moms who want a hot shower but can't find the time, have nobody to watch the baby, or have a partner but the baby cries every time they hold 'em and it stresses you out, you can have a hot shower. Put baby to sleep once you start seeing those sleepy cues. Set him/her in their car seat, put one of their blankets over the top, and gently rock it from side to side. It'll be dark and baby'll think you've gone out for a drive. Babies love car rides. Once you know baby is asleep, go and start the water for your shower. Then bring the car seat in (still blanketed) and put it on the bathroom floor. The sound of the running water is relaxing and it should lull baby back to sleep and buy you some time if they have a light start-up. Take your shower in peace for as long as this gets you. Wash your pretty face. Condition your lovely hair. Cry where you can not be witnessed and feel judged if you need to. Baby feels they are being held so they are most likely to go into a deep sleep and you don't have to worry. Your baby is right there if they need you, you get a moment to yourself, and you can rest easy knowing your baby isn't screaming their head off. No more phantom baby cries.
